Anti Aging Nutrition - What to Eat and Drink in Your Diet to Age Youthfully

There are many factors that effect the speed at which you age, and the degree to which it visibly shows. However, your health, and therefore the way you age, is closely linked to what you eat, drink, breathe, and put onto your skin. Nutrition, though, is the key to how you age, despite any genetic tendencies you may have.

The amount that you eat is in itself an important factor in the way you age. Eat too much, in other words consume more calories than you use. But how much do you need to eat? Keep an eye on your basal metabolic rate (or BMR) to give you an idea of how many calories you should consume each day to maintain weight. To reduce weight, you need to consume less calopries than you consume. Being overweight will lead to illness and more rapid aging.

The quality of the food you consume is also critical. It is best to avoid too much fat, especially trans fats such as those found in some deep fried foods. It is also wise not to eat any processed food whatsoever. Processing removes nutrients in nearly all foods (tomatoes are a notable exception), so provide little value at great expense. Fresh vegetables and fruits should form the basis of your diet for best anti aging effect, with meat and fish being carefully selected to avoid toxins and chemicals, and consumed in moderation.

A diet with a high fiber content is important to looking younger than your years, and maintaining your health as you age. You can get valuable fiber from fresh fruits and vegetables, wholemeal bread and brown rice. One tip if you eat brown rice: apparrently if you soak it for 22 hours before cooking, its alkalinity is increased. Keeping an alkaline balance of 7 plus for your food is a key factor in remaining healthy and a avoiding cancer. Cancer cells thrive in an acidic environment.

When it comes to drinking, let water take over as your main drink. An alkaline, purified water made through a reverse osmosis. Sodas and colas and all sugar intense soft drinks are not beneficial to your health at all.

Finally, be sure to make full use of food supplements. You do need a variety of vitamins and minerals which you will probably not gget in sufficient quantity through your food, although you should get as mcuh through your diet as possible. The core vitamins where supplementation has been shown to be beneficial are vitamin E, vitamin C, vitamin D and calcium. However, if you can be tested for any vitamin or mineral deficiency, then that is the best starting point in deciding what vitamin and mineral supplements you most need.

The Canadian government has recently introduced a campaign for vitamin D and calcium supplementation, as an American study showed that combination could reduce all cancers by 77%. The American government dismissed the study, having very close ties to the drug industry and often going to great lengths to deny the American public the truth about natural medicine. Americans are advised to keep up to date through Newstarget, which follows the dubious activities of the FDA and the politicans who receive money from the drug companies who prefer people to be sick rather than healthy.
