Welcome to the AgingWithYouth web site. Getting old is something that comes to all of us who are fortunate enough not to succumb to a fatal accident or illness early in life. So, one way or another we, and our individual societies and cultures, have to deal with aging; and it sometimes appears as if views and approaches to getting older, especially post retirement, vary considerably even in the same country and culture.
This web site is aimed primarily at those in Western society, although I hope also that some articles may benefit older people across the world. For me, each day of each year is something to treasure, so it is therefore important to look forward to as many of those days as possible, and to enjoy them to the full.
To grow old with enthusiasm, not dread, is the way to carry forward your fulfilling life right to the end. At the same time, let us aim for that "end" to be a long way off, and well past 100 years. No negative thinking such as "my working life is over, I'll just unwind until my time is up." Such negative thinking is a killer; it stifles fulfillment, achievement, happiness and enjoyment. Negative thinking about aging steals precious years from your life.

Taken together with taking good care of your finances, and looking at retirement as a new career with endless possibilities, if you concentrate on these aspects of getting old, then you will stand a good chance of aging with youth.
